Our Story

Hamilton Chess Club was founded in September 2025 by Balaji Narayanan and Deepak Gupta with a mission to provide structured chess coaching for kids and students across Menomonee Falls, Pewaukee, Sussex, Waukesha, Franklin, Milwaukee, Brookfield, and surrounding Wisconsin communities.

What began as a growing interest among students in local schools quickly revealed a larger gap—many young players wanted to learn chess seriously and compete in tournaments, but lacked access to consistent chess coaching, structured curriculum, and organized competitive training programs in their area.

To address this need, Hamilton Chess Club was created as a local chess training academy and community-based chess club, offering professional guidance, beginner-to-advanced instruction, and a supportive learning environment where students can build strong chess fundamentals and improve steadily over time.

Our coaching approach focuses on both skill development and competitive readiness, helping students participate confidently in USCF-rated and WSCF-rated chess tournaments while building long-term improvement through practice, strategy, and mentorship.

Proudly built as a Parent–Student Volunteering Initiative, Hamilton Chess Club has grown into a trusted local chess community serving families across Southeast Wisconsin. We continue to expand access to quality chess education in areas where structured coaching is limited, helping students grow both on and off the chessboard.
